I am thankful for...

Second grade gratitude journal entries for today. Hope they brighten up your day. They brightened up mine:

I am thankful for P. because she is somewhat nice to me and she's my friend.

I am thankful for trash cans because if we didn't have trash cans there would be trash all over the place.

I am thankful for houses because if we didn't have any houses there wouldn't be any place comfortable to sleep.

I am thankful for Jesus because if he didn't die we would be slaves. I would be crying for the rest of my life.

Not Exactly Bragging On His Dad

One of the kindergarten boys I work with is adorable but incorrigible, in that he seems to never want to follow directions. He wants to talk loudly, get into arguments, and even tell the class to be quiet instead of being quiet himself. Get the picture? Well today, this boy blurts out, "My dad can..." I think he's going to say "pick me up with one hand" or something like that. Are you ready? Here's what he said about his dad.
"My dad can make everybody cry."
Out of the mouths of babes...

A Giant Tried to Kill the Sun

The sun was shining.
A giant was trying to kill the sun.
He ate a poisoned apple and then he died.

'God sees in the Dark.'

The memory verse for this week at Vacation Bible School is Daniel 2:22:

"He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness; and light dwells with him."

One of the teachers was asking children to tell what they thought it meant. One little boy said, "God sees in the dark."

'My feet are walking."

I had a little guy tell me that his feet were walking (and we were sitting on the pew, listening to Jan's story....).
