The memory verse for this week at Vacation Bible School is Daniel 2:22:
"He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness; and light dwells with him."
One of the teachers was asking children to tell what they thought it meant. One little boy said, "God sees in the dark."

'My feet are walking."
I had a little guy tell me that his feet were walking (and we were sitting on the pew, listening to Jan's story....).

'My neck is tired.'
One little friend gave me his name tag that hung around his neck to hold for him during games outside. I asked him why he wanted me to hold it for him.
"My neck is tired," he said.
I get it. Don't you? Sometimes I think we (grownups) just use entirely too many words!

'My legs are gonna die...'
Little guy standing in line waiting to go outside for games at Vacation Bible School, and losing patience, says, "When are we gonna go? My legs are gonna die if I don't walk outside."
Again, can we not learn something beautiful about communication from children? Oh, for the days of winsomeness...

'If he's good with that, you can get him a mule.'
One little guy (six years old) says, "I'm six."
I say, "Wow, when was your birthday?"
"Yesterday,"
Little guy is counting on his fingers.
"I only have four left."
"Four left for what?"
"Until I'm ten."
Another little guy says,
"You can get him a go-cart. And if he's good with that you can get him a mule."
Grandma says,
:"He means a four-wheeler."
I conclude you can drive a four-wheeler when you're 10?
